John Singleton Mosby

"The Gray Ghost"

John Singleton Mosby (December 6, 1833 – May 30, 1916) also known as the "Gray Ghost," was a Confederate Ranger in the American Civil War. He was noted for his lightning quick raids and his ability to successfully elude his Union Army pursuers and disappear (like a ghost) with his men, blending in with local farmers and townspeople.

Like its namesake, Mosby’s Restaurant covers lots of territory! In fact, we try to debunk the myth that “you can’t be everything to everybody.” With a loaded menu, specialty buffets, a robust catering business, multiple banquet options, private dining room, and our lineup of great entertainment each week, we think we can! Or – like Mosby himself – we’ll go down trying!

Mosby's has created a fun and unique dining experience in a Civil War setting that makes Grant and Lee almost come to life again! Lunch or dinner at Mosby’s is a must visit for tourists to our breathtaking region!

Visit Mosby’s Restaurant in the Ridgeview Centre just outside scenic Wise, Virginia, off U.S Highway 23. Phone 276-679-0101. Click here for directions.
